To regenerate and develop the 24 acre Newcastle Helix site to become a leading urban quarter for digitally-enabled urban sustainability researchers, innovators, businesses and investors.
Completion of phase I of the Newcastle Helix site, including completion of physical infrastructure (The Core, The Key and Urban Science Building), site-based innovation projects (smart grid, geothermal well), delivery of city-based innovation and business support programmes (Enterprise to Business), leveraged external funding e.g. ERDF and Regional Growth Funding, and business case development for phase II projects e.g. The Biosphere.
Delivery of phase I of the regeneration of the Newcastle Helix site, including 95% occupancy rate at The Core, relocation of Newcastle University researchers into the Urban Sciences Building and secured investment of L&G Capital to the partnership and city.
